Banshiki Cho

I have the Nydo version notation banshiki cho and the only bit that im not sure about is the series of overlapping zig jag lines  phrases  9th  & 12th and in the second section.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what these mean?

Are they a repeat of the previous phrase one or two times depending on number of zig zags
or deep slow furi of the last note?  or?

Also  how to play the tsu to Ro meri towards the end. I dont yet have a recording of this piece.

Should the fingering for Tsu here be 2 only open meri down to tsu pitch & tap hole 2?
many thanks

Re: Banshiki Cho

Hello Graham,
These are a repeat, of sorts. I also have this piece, and if you look at the beginning of the first phrase, and again at the beginning of (it looks like) the 9th phrase, there is a sort of right angle bracket. The repeat (sorry, I don't remember the name for it) indicates that you repeat the section from this bracket to the zigzag. So, you play from the first phrase to the zigzag, then go back to the first phrase and play again, then move on to the next section (which starts with a bracket) play to the next zigzag and repeat from there and so on.
I hope this helps you.
