I would dearly love to get ahold of a piece of Shinkyoku music composed in 1975 by Yokoyama Katsuya (solo shakuhachi).
It is entitled 'Makiri'. I have the sheet music for it, but I'd like to hear it played. It's on these three albums:
• Sangai Rinten - 2
Yokoyama Katsuya
Denon - OX-7194
1980
• World of Katsuya Yokoyama, The
Yokoyama Katsuya
Polydor - MF 7001
• Shakuhachi Suiso
"Shakuhachi Honkyoku and modern pieces from the 1920's to the 1970's."
Furuya Teruo
Nippon Columbia - BCD-003
If anyone has one of these recordings and would be willing and able to make me even a low quality mono mp3 of Makiri and email it to me off the forum, I'd be delighted.

Ed, I'm on your side.
As a proud player of the Dokyoku lineage of Watazumi, I would like to proclaim that I am not part of the hardline Dokyoku faction. My stream comes through Kinya Sogawa, who does not use Furuya's notation and is more accepting of other players even if they may dilute the bloodline.
A funny coincidence, Riley held a few lessons at my place recently (which I was happy and lucky to host as I got to hear everyone's great playing!). The notation he and Ned used must have been pre Furuya. It was like my notation from Kinya, wonderfully and individually handwritten.
However, do respect intellectual property and I am happy to report that no Dokyoku copyright violations have ever occurred at Yung Flutes Workshop (although some Xeroxed Jin Nyodo Kinko notation have been spotted around here...from visitors of course...)

No worries about the Jin Nyodo Polizei -- other than Jin Nyodo's immediate family, it's a pretty ragtag and non-uptight bunch.

That must mean, of course, as well, that NO Dokyoku SOUNDS have ever occurred at Yung Flutes Workshop? Hmmmmm....?
I certainly hope that's the case, for your sake, Perry...
