Tempuku?

Is anyone familiar with this endangered instrument or the music played on it?

(for those who haven't heard of it, its a close relative of the shakuhachi, made of bamboo with a blowing edge that is cut angled in towards the bore).

I was hoping to find a sound clip on the net, but I don't think there is as much as a photo.

Regards,

Harry.

Re: Tempuku?

Here's a pic.

It is a primitive shakuhachi with the utaguchi facing inward rather than outward.

There are a few songs on one of the King Records anthologies. Called something like, "A Collection of Unusual Musical Instruments". That's a great CD. They also have hitoyogiri on there.
