Mujitsu and Tairaku's Shakuhachi BBQ

The Shumei Arts Council of America will present a special musical performance titled “Hide Thunder: Skin Whispers”, featuring an internationally acclaimed Shakuhachi (bamboo flute) player and Taiko drummer, Marco Lienhard, together with Japanese Taiko Master, Koji Nakamura, as a part of the “Art & Ideas 2007 Pasadena Festival of Skin.”

The concert will include guest performers Yukiko Matsuyama playing the koto, Mike Penny on the shamisen (Japanese banjo), and Makoto Taiko, a Pasadena-based taiko drumming group.  Shumei Hall is located at 2430 East Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena (Map: www.shumeiarts.org/map.html ).  The event will take place on Sunday, October 14th, 2007 at 3:30 pm.
