Greetings from Ithaca, NY

Hello,

I am a newcomer to this forum.  I've been playing the shakuhachi for a little over a year and I've become extremely interested in its extraordinarily wide range of expressive capabilities, and I'm very motivated to expand my ability on this fascinating instrument as much as possible.  I play a few other folk flutes, including ney, kaval, Native American flute, khlui and fujara.

Hi Eric,

As another newcomer to the forum, welcome! They tell me the skinnier end goes up next to the mouth. I tend to think they've already told you a bit about where to put the bigger end. :-)
