Shakuhachi Informative in Columbus, OH

Hello everyone.  Michael Chikuzen Gould will be hosting a shakuhachi informative and student recital in Columbus, OH on February 4th, 2006.  There will be solo and group performances by Michael and his students, plus a lecture or two on shakuhachi and Zen Buddhism.

Michael began studying the shakuhachi in 1982 in Kyoto, Japan under the guidance of world renowned masters Mr. Yoshinobu Taniguchi and Mr. Yokoyama Katsuya. In 1991 he earned the title of Dai Shihan (Grand Master), one of only a few nonnative Japanese to do so. From 1996-1998 Michael taught shakuhachi and Zen Buddhism at Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio and was shakuhachi instructor at Oberlin College, Oberlin, Ohio from 1997-1999.  For more information, please see his web page:
