Mujitsu and Tairaku's Shakuhachi BBQ

Saw this tidbit on the NYTimes about sax players playing altissimo (i.e. very high):

Seems they alter their vocal tracts to mimic the pitch being produced by the instrument. I wonder if we do something similar? They say in the article that they'll be testing clarinets next, maybe someone could encourage them to do a shakuhachi test.

By the way, the testing technique was pretty interesting.
