shakuhachi & piano duet uploaded
I had the plessure to perform with a amazing jazz piano player Dominik Wania (Full schoolarship @ New England Conservatory)
We performed Yamanaka Bushi. It has Contemporary feel (whatever that means now:-)

we play the song once through & we play again Backwords. Note for note:-) we play till the midlee of the song & improv a bit and hit the end.

Geni, what was the microphone set up for that recording ?
The Shakuhachi in particular, one mic, two, more ?

there was one close mic for shakuhachi (big condenser) 2 mic attached inside the piano & 2 room mics. That's the set up the sound guys use there in school. I don't remember the names of the microphones. I was busy playing:-)
