Hallo Shakuhachi-Friends,
My introduction:
Dr. Jim Franklin, Shihan
Student initially of Riley Lee in Australia, then Teruo Furuya and Katsuya Yokoyama in Japan. I received my shihan-menjoh from Yokoyama-Sensei in 1996.
I now live in Germany, (Lauf an der Pegnitz, near Nuremberg) and teach in the Nuermberg area, Bamberg, Stuttgart and Hannover, with some students from other areas. Focus of my teaching work is honkyoku in the Watazumi/Yokoyama tradition, and modern pieces/improvisation, in accordance with students' interests.
