World Shakuhachi Festival Programme

Has anyone seen or have a detailed programme for the 2008 WSF ?
The Website seems thin on event detail.

Kel.

Sadly even performers did not receive any programme.

I saw there was a link for tickets to the concerts but thos links do not tell you exactly what you are buying, who are the perfomrers etc..

Re: World Shakuhachi Festival Programme

I have been involved in festival organisation and know that exact schedules often happen on the day, but I hoped by now, two weeks out, there may have been more information available. Really they only advise of a handful of performances.
I would like to know more than this, such as the workshops and master classes. What may we be able to look forward to and perhaps prepare for.

Kel.

Re: World Shakuhachi Festival Programme

I have a schedule for all the events, but it's in Japanese. I'm sure they're working on a translation and will hopefully post it on their website soon.

Please note: Can't say precisely when, but a full English schedule will be coming along soon, so hang in there.

Not bad but also not very good considering that many if not most of the people coming will not be Japanese an English version should be posted at the same time for organization purpose and also respect towards all. Many people will be coming from far away and  paying good money for this. I might sound very critical about this but I consider this the bare minimum when it comes to organizing something that by this time they SHOULD have the schedule of all the confirmed performers with date time etc...

By not providing this at this time and at least 1 month in advance it somehow shows that maybe there is issues or that they are not having all the performers and participant they hoped for etc..   I might be totally wrong and I do hope I am wrong on this one but sadly this is the feeling I get wen I look at some event that does not have a clear schedule up until the last minute.

By the way Josh could you send us the link of the Japanese schedule?

Re: World Shakuhachi Festival Programme

Sorry Gishin,
I only got a paper copy sent to me and don't have a way of scanning it right now. But it seems you got one from Brian?
Your suspicians are probably true. It seems it's hard to nail down who will actually attend and perform, hence the continuous schedule changes due to dificulty with confirmation issues.

Horst, I hear they'll send you a german sckedule only after you send them the required beer and sausage registration fee wink  and a Horst original zen poem
