Help with a "rare"(?) shakuhachi LP

I found an LP in Masa Yoshizawa's collection of vinyl that has "Not For Sale" on the center of the disk (where they write what's on the LP).

I put pics up at http://communication.ucsd.edu/bjones/Un … kyoku.html

Would love to know who the player is, and what the LP title is.

Anyone know?

thanks

Everything is perfect, it just needs a little improvement.

The player is Sakai Shodo, the title is Take o fuku.

Additional information from private correspondence:

The title translates as "Blowing Bamboo"

Sakai Shodo is the current head of Chikuho Ryu

The pieces are:

Futaiken Tsuru no Sugomori
Ajikan
Futaiken Reibo
Echigo San'ya

Recorded December 19th and 20th, 1986, and July 24th, 1987.

---------------

My commentary (FWIW):

The playing is strikingly dramatic.  Even on an LP, with it's compressed dynamic range, Sakai's playing is so soft at times that you can
barely hear it  without cranking up the volume, and then ranges up to the "turn it down" point.

Thanks to the many people who responded.
