performance events


I'd like to share some info about performance events coming up this spring. I'm particularly excited about the premiere of my newly commissioned piece for shakuhachi and string quartet - that's in May.  Also, my book of original Duets will soon be published and available at Looking forward to cherry blossoms - Yours, James

WORLD PREMIERE of my composition "Quintet for Shakuhachi and String Quartet."

In addition there are a number of other performances including two in Japan, on May 26 in Kyoto and on June 6 in Tokyo. Both are with Yoko Kimura on Shamisen & Koto. We will play and a new piece of mine for the duo, Meikyo, Chidori, and other works. Check the calendar page at.  for details

I was tuning a Hassun today as your CD was playing and I found myself playing along with the duets. I had great fun using it as part of my tuning process. Highly recommended to other makers.
