Very cool poster, Geni.
It will be very exciting!
What is the content of the concert?
Did you manage to prepare November Steps with the alternative orchestra?

Thank YOU Ed!!!
no November steps this time. The Conductor bailed out last moment.
I am playing mostly Original Compositions (Contemporary Jazz). Doing some duets with a Vibraphone player.
Its going to be fun. It will be recorded audio & Video. I will post them online.
Thank You guys

That's NOT a tail (the very idea!). That's a fuzzy katana scabbard, as anyone can plainly see.

Ohhh.... I should have asked Ed to make my poster too!
Next time! Will you, Ed?
Too bad about November Steps. It could have been fun to hear this very alternative version of it. It is so hard to pull it through when there are many people involved! We need managers!
Yes, let us know where to hear/see the conceert!

Congratulations Geni!
This Masters probably represents the first time a Westerner who has never studied in Japan gets a Masters playing Western music on shakuhachi. This is an interesting milestone in the integration of shakuhachi into Western culture.

What are you sitting on? It looks like a bag full of stolen chocolate chip cookies. Is that the secret?
Actually, that is a clone of Chikuzen after a trip through a car squasher...

I don't usually quote myself but I realized........is Albania western or perhaps somewhere between East and West? It's right next to Greece which has strong ties to both "sides".

Geni,
As a female shakuhachi player - I like your new avatar even better than your poster!

That's good to know because originally he took it down because he was afraid you might be offended. But I told him you'd like it and I was right. ![]()

Albania is in southeastern Europe. There are musical influences from both sides.

Yeah Geni looks like he's wielding at least a 1.8 whereas some of the other improvising shakuhachi players have mere 1.2's or even just half a shinobue.

Mmmmmmm...... Well, if the diplomas look like Geni's avatar..... I will keep on taking more and more.
And good you told Geni that I would not get offended, Tairaku! Imagine if I wouldn't have seen this high art - that suits my taste so well - in my lifetime!?!?!?!
