Playing with a hood on

I was playing last night while letting the dog do her stuff in the yard and put my sweatshirt hood on and WOW. It made the flutes sound more pronounced and deeper in tone. I could imagine what a traditional komuso hat would do. I have to play more like this from now on. smile

I was not conscious whether I was riding on the wind or the wind was riding on me.

Playing with a Tengai is a bit problematic or at least "very different" as it has a part that comes down over the front of your face. Your hood probably didn't.  In Cleveland we play "in the hood" though!

Wow, do you think it'll help me to make a sound?!

Each part of the body should be connected to every other part.

The hood works great for now. Until it gets hot that is.It just shows how acoustics can make a big difference.

As for sound keep practicing. I am only at 4 1/2 months or so and am getting kan with most notes down pretty good now.Its great when you start to become proficient. I have a long way to go though. Don't we all. smile
