From Russia with love

Hi everyone!

My name is Igor Stefanov. I live in Moscow, Russia.  I've got my first shakuhachi in last March from the local flutemaker. Initially studied on my own. Then got the student shaku from Monty Levinson. Currently study shakuhachi from the local teacher (he rehears and plays with Japan masters) and own two beautiful Japan instruments - Kinko and Tozan. The latest achievement - the whole Rokudan solo, and two first dans with a koto (recording). Recently started . That's all so far.

I'd also like to thank the creators of the site for a great job, it's really a valuable source of shaku related info.

Kind regards,
Igor

Welcome.
The third dan is where it gets fun to play with recordings -- enjoy!

What's up, Igor!
Welcome and it's great to meet somebody from Russia.
I met a German who said he loved Russia because when he lived there he drank vodka all the time without getting hung over! What's the secret? roll
Cheers!

The secret is not stopping drinking vodka.

Здравствуйте Igor! Welcome to the Forum.Great to meet you.

Over the years, I have sent a few flutes to Russia. One went to Dimitry, a professional musician of Saint-Petersburg Philharmonic orchestra.  I bet you will meet him!
