Template for tranverse hole placement

I am thinking of making a transverse flute and was wondering if anyone can direct me in the direction of the formula for hole placement. I am not having much luck.

Thanks

I was not conscious whether I was riding on the wind or the wind was riding on me.

Try this! http://www.koolbamboo.com/FluteNotes.pdf

Once you make a few that are in tune you can stretch an elastic band and mark the holes and flute length. Then, use the band as a template to make flutes of various lengths. Stretch to fit. It's crude but works pretty well.
