I havent used this company myself yet but I will be getting some later this year, the butt diameter of 40mm sounds promising.
Today i bought a bamboo garden lantern/torch that had a nice thick stem

Hmmm, I'd email and find out how thick the walls are as well as what kind of bamboo it is. It doesn't say, and it's good to know before spending that kind of money.
