That's pretty funny! But what's a forum without a rebuttal?

I don't think it's Gishin's tuner that only picks up three stations.

The problem and strength of radio is in its localness. When I lived closer to some major universities, there seemed to be a much greater range of variety than here in SWFL. The only thing that the local college here does is carry NPR, which is good for news and talk, but there is not much music unless you get one of those HD radios. Nearly every other radio station here is owned by the same company, which seems to play more commercials than music, and variety is decided by demographics like age and race. That generally means that everything is popular music, just from different time periods and different, although well established, genres. There seems to be general angst about putting something on the air that may cross genre lines or just exist outside of them, and there are many more than three stations. If you like Latin Jazz, though, this is the place!

All thanks to Ronnie Reagan, & Co. (but don't get me started...).

That reminds of the map of red and blue states in the last election. If you look at any red state you will see these clearly delineated blue pockets in them. Those are the major universities. I guess we could use that map to see where the widest choices of music on the radio are.

Amazing what you can do with two chords............and how long you can do it for !
Too bad we have to stop to breathe.
I like to tune into foreign Internet radio, then I at least have a plausible reason why I don't know what the message is.
