Greetings to all from Lebanon,

On Monday February 1, 2010, The Fridge - Dubai, will feature Kyle Kamal Helou on Shakuhachi performing solo Shakuhachi pieces. Special appearance by the Fridge's own Shelly frost on Harp.

For those interested in Shakuhachi lessons in and around the Dubai area, please feel free to contact me (Kyle) directly via my website or through this announcement thread to arrange for a lesson time, as I will be arriving this Friday evening and will be available to give lessons on either Saturday or Sunday.

Kyle, I so wish I could be there!
When I do visit my very good friend in Beirut - I hope we will be able to meet up. I'd love to hear you play.
Good luck and join us playing shakuhachi 6 February as Perry already mentioned!

Also, please do let us know how the audience perception was - and also in Beirut where you live. That would be very interesting?

Shelly and I have been diligently preparing all day Saturday and will do the same Sunday for the concert on Monday.

Dear friends,

Thank you kindly for all your support!
The concert was truly a success. More than 100 people attended and to my surprise, quite a few of them had heard of the Shakuhachi, and couple of people also played the instrument but had no teachers in Dubai, so I was glad to have been able to offer lessons during my stay in Dubai.

The response was tremendous! I would like to thank all those who attended and the crew at The Fridge who was supportive and helpful in setting up a wonderful stage. Also, many thanks to Shelly from The Fridge for her beautiful playing on the Harp.

If I can get some video I will certainly post some on youtube!
