2 Events this Weekend in NYC

I want to mention two Events this Weekend in NYC to all of you who may be interested:

1- There will be a Winter Honkyoku Intensive in 2 parts this Saturday, at the KiSuiAn Dojo (120 Riverside Drive, #3W)
The first part will be a Beginner's Honkyoku Intensive where we will be covering KYOREI. There is no Shakuhachi experience necessary.
The second part will cover a more advanced piece depending upon who signs up.
Please register if you plan to come. You can call me at 917-207-6724, or email <nyogetsu@gmail.com>

2-If any of you can come to my Annual Solo Recital at Tenri Cultural Institute (43A West 13th Street- between 5th and 6th Avenues), I would love to see you.
It will be on Friday Evening, 2/19/10, at 7:00PM.
This year will feature my new composition , based upon 4 paintings by Thomas Cole (1840- American), entitled "The Voyage of Life" (Jinsei Koro).
     It is a 4-movement, 17 minute composition using 4 different length Shakuhachi (1.6, 1.8, 2.0, 2.4).
I think you will enjoy it!
     The Recital begins at 7:00PM.
     No RSVP necessary.

Re: 2 Events this Weekend in NYC

Hi Kiku,

I have about one CDs worth of compositions (about ten pieces). But don't forget its been 37 years of playing!
One of my CDs "Heart of Zen" (on GAIAM) is about 40% original material.
The new piece is the longest (about 17 minutes, or 4 minutes per movement).
The second half of the concert will be all my compositions.

I'm thinking that I will have the piece video-graphed and put on You Tube.
Since You Tube only allows up to 10 minutes, it will have to be in 2 parts.
Take a look !

Hugs,
Ronnie
