I started out with David Duncavage, a teacher and maker.

My first flute of his was a 1.8 that I paid for over a long time, maybe $50 increments if I remember
correctly. He just gave me the flute, nothing to sign, no contract, just pay as you can.

Next was a 2.4, same deal.

I still own and treasure both flutes.

Probably not so easy to offer such a plan if you have not met and developed a feel
for the buyer. A reference from a notable teacher might go a long way.
