Greetings

Greetings,
I found this site via another flute forum.
I play mainly 'Irish' keyless flutes, but tinker a lot,
and made a pvc shakuhachi about 5 years ago.

The other day I dropped it and damaged the
'blade' repaired it,  and decided to look for some
'proper' shakuhachi music instead of noodling
around on a pentatonic scale.

Anyway, I found this site
http://webjay.org/by/salishsea/asianflutemusic ,
posted it on the http://chiffboard.mati.ca/viewforum.php?f=2
and a member here - you know who you are yikes) - posted
this site in reply.

I now realise that I've seriously underestimated the
shakuhachi, and it's abilities.
My wife would like to get hold of
Barry near Philly because I'll be too busy
learning from here for a loooooong time.

Re: Greetings

Hello,

I was one the chaps who replied to your message on the chiff board. Hope you find plenty of use here. There seems to have been a minor 'Irish'/ shakuhachi invasion of late. We should really form a support group, or a bowling team or something.

All the besht,

Harry.

Re: Greetings

Yes!  small world.  I've been over in chiffland, but not too active lately.

I'm more of a Bohm flute player, but dabble in keyless wood flutes.  I've been playing Japanese music on them for a while, and have recently crossed over into this adventure.
