Re: Cathleen Read

If it's OK, I'd love her contact info as well. It's EXTREMELY difficult to find a good Yamada player here on the West Coast.

Thanks!

Re: Cathleen Read

Hi Elliot,

I just sent the last good contact info for MS Read that I have.

She was East Coast based the last time that I saw her though.

She is very nice.

A few years ago I was told that she was having a gathering of koto and shakuhachi players
at her home. So despite my level of experience I thought why not go. I'll blend in with the
other shakuhachi players, stop playing when I get lost, join back in if/when I can find my
place in the notation again, etc.

But guess what, I was the only shakuhachi player! smile One other showed up near the end though.

So it was me and about a half dozen quite expert koto players for the most part.

I did my best, but it was quite stressful for me at the time. Funny to look back on though.

Cathleen and her students were great, very encouraging.
