Maker info for 2 flutes
I recently found 2 older flutes in an antique shop in Tokyo, can read the hankos, but know nothing of the makers. If anyone knows anything about the makers, or has a flute w/ same hanko, please share....
one is a 2 piece 1.6, hanko "enzan" (maruyama??) 円山

Hi Glenn, sorry I can't be of help with the hanko/makers, but I was just curious as to if you had any recommendations for antique shopping in Tokyo? Is there a particular area which is worth visiting? I'm going back over for a friend's wedding and I'd like to nose around in some antique shops.

well... this shop in koenji is GREAT, filled floor to ceiling with all sorts of cool stuff- not high end antiques, but cheaper yet cool stuff, lots of chanoyu stuff, but these were the only shakuhachi i've seen there yet... will get the name for you.
shimokitazawa has a lot of antique stores too, they have a neat little map printed up which you can pick up at some of them. i was mainly looking for 78 records of japanese music, one store there called Kensington had beautiful gramophones and i actually scored 12 records(esashi oiwake among them).
the owner was so nice- he played 78's he had (but wouldn't sell) of rokudan by miyagi michio and another with aoki reibo on this amazing HMV big gramophone...
there is an antique "mall" in ginza, went there but everything was, well, ginza price 
but of course nice stuff.
