August is a busy Shakuhachi month for those of us here on the East Coast.
In addition to our annual SHAKUHACHI CAMP in Pennsylvania, we are lucky to once again be able to host the great  Shakuhachi Master/Performer Kurahashi Yodo II, for his annual Summer East Coast Teaching tour! He will be teaching in NYC (Brooklyn); Rochester, NY; Philadelphia PA.; and Maryland (Wash D.C./Balt. Dojo)

But what sometimes gets lost in the flurry of Shakuhachi activity, is that we have been having at least one or two annual Honkyoku Retreats up in the Catskill Mountains of New York State at the Rinzai-Shu  Zen Monastery- DAI BOSATSU ZENDO. At present we only have one person signed up! So you can be assured that you can get personal attention.  Here is the pertinent information:

Honkyoku Intensive Weekend at Dai Bosatsu Zendo
Dai Bosatsu is a beautiful Rinzai-Sect Zen Monastery deep in the Catskills in upstate New York. We have been providing all of their Shakuhachi needs for the past 38 years! There will be separate Honkyoku taught for beginners and more advanced Shakuhachi players. The instructor is Ronnie Nyogetsu Reishin Seldin.
