familiar melodies

Does anyone have familiar western melodies transcribed in Kinko notation?  I thought it might be a good way to check my tuning accuracy in context.

Not sure just how familiar this list would be for you, but Carl Abbott has a book out entitled 'Blowing West', with Western melodies transcribed into Kinko notation. It's a pretty useful book, with fine tunes, but many are not familiar to many listeners. The pieces:

# 1. Tchaikovsky - Swan Lake
# 2. Tchaikovsky - Piano Concerto #1
# 3. Chopin - Prelude in A Major
# 4. Mozart - Larghetto
# 5. Handel - Largo
# 6. Brahms - Symphony #1
# 7. Brahms - Lullaby
# 8. Tchaikovsky - Symphony #5
# 9. Chopin - Nocturne
# 10. Brahms - The Linden Tree
# 11. Beethoven - Piano Concerto #3
# 12. Bach - Gavotte (Violin Sonata #3)
# 13. Lully - Gavotte
# 14. Haydn - Symphony in G Major
# 15. Mozart - Rondo Alla Turca
# 16. Bach - Sheep May Graze Safely
# 17. Schubert - Moment Musical #3
# 18. Gounod - Waltz (from Faust)
# 19. Beethoven - Minuet in G
# 20. Stanley - Gavotte & Minuet
# 21. Kabalevsky - Andantino
# 22. Handel - Adagio & Allegro
# 23. Verdi - Triumphas March (Aida)
# 24. Marcello - Sonata in G Major
# 25. Gilbert & Sullivan - A Wandering Mistrel, I (Mikado)
# 26. Mendelssohn - On Wings of Song
# 27. Diabelli - Adante
# 28 . Brahms - Hungarian Dance #1
# 29. Dvorak - New World Symphony
# 30. Offenback - Barcarolle (Tales of Hoffman)
# 31. Bordogni - Allegro
# 32. Pergolesi - Sicilian Air
# 33. Mozart - La Ci Darem La Mano (Don Giovanni)
# 34. Schumann - Two Grenadiers
# 35. Hovhaness - Divertimento (1st Flute)
# 36. Hovhaness - Divertimento (2nd Flute)
# 37. Hovhaness - Divertimento (3rd Flute)
# 38. Yoga Shima no Ame

It's available at Monty Levenson's site (www.shakuhachi.com) and the order number is 'AS-2'.

It takes effort to attain nothingness.
And then what do you have?
