Greetings from Paris

Hi,

I'm a beginner shakuhachi student from Paris France. I've been learning shakuhachi for roughly one year with Daniel Lifermann in Paris. I am currently working (or should I say struggling ^^) on my first honkyoku, Hon Shirabe.

Cheers,
Nicolas

Re: Greetings from Paris

Welcome Nicolas,

I too am playing Hon Shirabe. The great thing I've found about getting to know some of the peices a little is that it opens up an appreciation of how others are interpreting them. There's a world of music in those few notes.

Regards,

Harry.

Re: Greetings from Paris

Hello everyone. My name is Deborah and I am in Oklahoma. I played Native American flute for a few years and through this became really fascinated with shakuhachi. I have been playing for just under a year, that is, I have been playing notes (which is actually very satisfying). I have been very fortunate in finding some wonderful flutes  to "grow into." I am interested in Honkyoku.
