A Day in YoungFlutes Workshop.
Hi Guys,
2 days ago I had the pleasure to visit Perry Yung in his workshop.
I had the best experience there. I checked out some of his flutes, and they sound it wonderfull .
He did some work on my flute , and it made the flute sing.
And , he is a great Shakuhachi player. He sound it 150% japanese.
I was so so inspired from his dedication and playing.
If you guys have chance, it will worth the visit.
I know where I am going to get my next flute.

Sorry for the slow response. It's always a bit hectic juggling performance, shakuhachi making...and kids.
It was really nice having you over too. Anyone and everyone is welcomed to Yung Flutes Workshop - Northampton, just let me know ahead of time. perry@yungflutes.com. I'll be in NYC on the last three weekends of March so those weekends are out. Week days between 9am - 4pm is usually a good time to come by. The Green tea is on!

Hey Eddie,
We've relocated temporarily to Northampton MA because my wife is doing Grad school (one semester down!). I originally thought that I could work from both NYC SOHA (South of Harlem) and the Happy Vally since I'm in NYC every month. But so far, every time I've gone into the city, it's been for performance related work. I haven't been able to multi-task so I will be focusing more on shakuhachi work while in MA.

I wish Seattle was a little closer to NY. I was there in 1959. Woops, gave away the fact that I'm old. tsk tsk. I was about 5 at the time. All I remember is the smell of diesel in Grand Central Station, the Empire State Building, which was the highest building at that time, and SNOW up to your eyeballs.
