Great Site for Newbies!!!

Hey everyone.... I just found a Japanese website with a bunch of songs n'stuff done in western notation as well as the 5-hole diagram below it.  All the songs are in GIF format so you should be able to print them out.

Here is the site....

http://www.csf.ne.jp/~kodo/syakuhachiannai1.htm

just look for the links and start clicking.....  smile

i don't know what the song titles are but they're really easy to figure out how to play....

Hope someone else thinks it's as cool as i do..

It's better to keep your mouth closed and let people "think" that you're stupid, than to open it, and remove all doubt.

It's a dandy little treasure. If you haven't already noticed this, there are mp3 recordings of most of the pieces linked at the far right.

The tunes are Minyo (Japanese folk and childrens' tunes), with a version of Auld Lang Syne, a popular piece in Japan, thrown in for
good measure.

Good find, Jacques!

and if you pay attention to the filenames when you go to click the mp3, you'll get the titles:

Tuki
Haru Yokoi
Kokiriko
Mono no Ke
Hotaru no Hikari
        (Auld Lange Syne)
Faru no Ogawa
Nada Susu
