PVC Shakuhachi standard measurments?

Using the guide pinned above I went shopping for PVC at the local Home Depot hardware store. In the US they dont have metric measurements. I bought a 3/4" drill bit which is 9.53mm ( I was going for 10mm). The PVC for sale only comes in 1/2", 3/4", 1", and 1 1/4". Which size coordinates with the 20mm that is in the recipe?

Thanks,

Joe

Joe. I hope you meant (and purchased) 3/8 inch and not 3/4 inch for the 10mm.

For the record: 20 millimeter = 0.787 inch   (3/4" = .750)

                       10 millimeter = 0.393 inch  (3/8" = .375)

Here's a link to a conversion page: http://www.onlineconversion.com/length_common.htm

Heaps of these may be found by Googling "conversion: inches to metric" or "length conversion" or similar.

Google is our friend (mostly...)

Whew...

Yes, I bought the 3/8 drill bit and the 3/4 pipe. Thanks for the conversion, I wish I had google while I was at the store smile. I was beginning to wonder if I was going to have to specially order the pvc. I'm not all that great at math. I am more of a graphic artist. I might not have figured it out anyway.

Thanks for the reply,

Joe

It gets even better: on google enter "20 mm in in" and you'll get the result.
Works with all sorts of units: try "3/4 in in mm", "100 usd in gbp", ...

Cheers, udo.

Brilliant (danged German engineers smile)!!

Just be sure to omit the quotation marks, or you'll get a million examples of the phrase within them.
