Hello,
Just found this interesting video of Smoke on the water on Youtube :

Great rendition of classic '70's rock.
It first struck me as odd seeing the formal, stiff approach in contrast to the rough and ragged Deep Purple who originally played it, but then when the full orchestra came in it took on a whole new life which really changed the feel and meaning to the song. Of course it helped that I don't know Japanese, so the lyrics had lost their original meaning and context and it really just became another song that sounded like another.
Cool stuff,
Damon

That was hilarious! Thanks for the good laugh to start the day. I can't help wondering, though, if the Odaiko guy ever got to play, or were they saving him for the drum solo in In-a-Gadda-da-Vida?

Kokoo, that's Akikazu Nakamura's group. Their version of "Purple Haze" (Jimmy Hendrix) is phenomonal. I love that album.
I would love to see a video of that also.

There's a version of 'We will rock you' with the same group here: http://www.japanprobe.com/?p=4096
