Moulding a bore mandrel with latex?

hey guys..... just wondering if anyone has ever thought of moulding the interior/exterior of a shakuhachi with latex rubber.
my wife actually thought of this...(she does craft moulding with it all the time)

once you have the mould....you "should" be able to reproduce it pretty easily....haven't quite figured what material yet but maybe epoxy resin?

it's good enough for Monty.....any ideas as to how an entire shakuhachi made from polyester resin would turn out?

lemmie know..   smile

It's better to keep your mouth closed and let people "think" that you're stupid, than to open it, and remove all doubt.

Polyester resin works pretty well for a bore mandrel. It's hard enough to withstand use and pliable enough to use for curved shakuhachi.
