Koto transcribed for Piano

Hey hey,

Does anyone know where I can find koto (sankyoku) pieces in Western notation?  I'm bumbling around online and haven't found the right resource.  Yet.

Thanks!

Re: Koto transcribed for Piano

Hey Ax.

http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-PIANO-MUSIC-BO … .m20.l1116

I have this book and have performed some pieces with the piano or organ players. It's "OK". But there are some weird things like for example when you play "Rokudan" you have to use 1.6. Don't know why.

But get it.

Re: Koto transcribed for Piano

I have used that book to perform with a harp player when I couldn't get a koto player. Not bad at all for what it is.

Have you noticed that some songs are in weird keys?

Re: Koto transcribed for Piano

Sweet, thanks.  I bet I can transpose and re-transcribe the Rokudan notation easily enough.  I've got PhotoScore Lite--haven't tried it yet, but I'm pretty sure it will can printed music into Sibelius; then it's a question of transposing it.  First things first; track down the book.

True, I meant, "not the keys these songs are traditionally performed in."
