For Vancouver Shakuhachi lovers

I've persuaded Banyen Books & Sound to purchase a few Yuu so the local beginners have a easy source to get going. I'm going to be offering a bit of a lecture/demonstration on the Yuu and Shakuhachi in general at the store on Sunday November 23rd at 11:30 am.
Come join me for some Robuki and maybe Kyorei... It would be great to "recruit" some more players in our area.

I'm at the Zen Centre for zazen, usually until noon on Sundays.  If I can get away a bit early I'll try to get down to Banyen for this!

thanks,
Erin

Re: For Vancouver Shakuhachi lovers

Pepe, I was away in Japan studying shakuhachi.  I'll try and join you for the next robuki session. What version of Kyorei do you play?

Three of us in Vancouver have been meeting fairly regularily on Wednesday nights to blow long tones together.  We are happy to have more players join us.  We have been meeting at the Roundhouse at 7:00 pm but have been encountering increating problems getting a room.  We are looking for somewhere to meet.

I'm only just starting my shakuhachi journey but I'd be interested in coming along to some of your sessions to listen at least.

cheers,
Erin

Re: For Vancouver Shakuhachi lovers

Hello Airin and PS
I'd love to join you but I teach on Wednesdays at 6:30 in North Van. If the Roundhouse doesn't work long term I'd be willing to host it at my house/studio, provided it's not on Wednesdays (Tuesdays or Thursdays are good for me).
