Re: Hanko Identification

Maybe top is bamboo, lower is mountain. Chikuzan perhaps.

Re: Hanko Identification

I am a Taiwanese.
I have two shakuhachi from this maker.
He died for many years.
He had many many famous shakuhachi students who are still active now.

The first character is "bamboo",
and the second is "god",
please note that "god" , not  "God".

Re: Hanko Identification

Hola mi hermano, Looks like a fine flute. It is not a Tamai Chikusen though. I have worked on a few of this maker's flutes. I believe it reads Chikuzan - The characters are Bamboo and Mountain.

Re: Hanko Identification

Olá Perry!!!

Nice to hear from you!

Last night I receive an email from a friend telling that Tamai Chikuzen used to put this square hanko on his lower grade flutes...

Anyway, it's the 2nd different 1.8 that I can play in all my life, which isn't made by me...I don't use to have the chance to play on different shakuhachi. I started to play on mine and those that arive at my home are rare (to me) instrument around, which I believe that anyone have in many miles around me!

I hope to know more about this flute... it has a nice feel!!!

A big hug!!!
