Phil,
I've never used it but just now tested its strength. It's stronger than I thought it would be but still breaks with less tension than nylon. Perhaps there are different grades of floss?

I used to use it for pulling/tucking the last couple of rattan binding wraps taught, but it repeatedly failed and often left an exuberance of spriggly goo. A true, high-tension nylon string, monofilament or other material (I've also had luck with Kevlar) might be a better choice?
