One of Bands that I play shakuhchi & flute Newpoli, is nominated for Best Music World Act in Boston.
Please vote for us (Newpoli) using the crappy interface/voting system the Phx came up with. Since it's totally obvious, I'll remind you to click the radio button to the left of our name, and then click Submit vote, and then click on Cast Ballot twice, and type your name and email in. Genius design:-)

I voted for you. Although it was tough because I also like "The New England/New Guinea Cannibal Orchestra Bean Bakers and Gospel Choir".

Tarantula's play shakuhachi? What a visual. Maybe Eddy or Chris has such a pic?
Thanks for the offer, friend Chikuzen. I'll defer to Eddie-san on this one. My work load has tripled in the past couple of months and I can barely squeeze in practice time not to mention Photoshop shenanigans, much as I love it. (Btw, Shakuhachi Beat blog is closing down on August 1. No tears. Blogs with no time for new entries and pathetic and dead. So if you want any graphics from it, get em now.)

That's not good! Keep it going.

Chris, excuse me for volunteering you, sort of. That is, sort of volunteering you, not sort of excuse me (long day here too). I lived in Japan too long to not say "we" instead of "I" sometimes. In short, your skill is always impressive so your name came to mind quickly, with Eddy's. Glad you have work, many don't.

Even the most wet-behind-the-ears shakunoob knows that tarantulas can't even begin to get a proper shakuhachi embouchure....

I googled "shakuhachi tarantula" to see what I'd find. I found nothing to prove or disprove whether tarantula can play shakuhachi or not, but I found a webpage that starts out with a picture of Brian Ritchie in a red dress: http://brella.org/sandpebbles/Violent%20Femmes.htm

Me too.
Thank you for referring to me. Being in publishing I love seeing my name in print.
