New to list

Hello from Omaha, NE. I got my first shakuhachi from Ken Lacosse in 1996--a 1.8 non-root jiari I believe. I played it for about 6 months and got to where I could play a couple of simple folk songs by reading the traditional script. I then got a Native American flute which led me down an entirely different path--I actually became a flute maker of this style by which I currently make my living. I have always loved the shakuhachi though. It is just recently that I have started playing again after 13 years away. I caught the bug again in Oklahoma a couple of years ago at a flute festival when a friend let me play a sweet 1.8 which may have been Ken's as well. I have a Chikuho 2.2 which I think is around 30 years old and a Perry Yung 2.5 Earth model. I am hoping to acquire a 1.8 David Brown 2 piece wooden shakuhachi for travel as well. Feel free to contact me any time--especially if you are passing through Omaha.

Thanks
Colyn
