Zen Jazz

The Hogaku Journal had a small article about 'You Tube' where they typed in 'shakuhachi'. Most of the videos that came up were crap but a person worth checking out is David Zasloff ,doing what he calls 'Zen Jazz'. Interesting and non-traditional way of playing the shakuhachi. Here's the link:

I never really thought to look to YouTube for shakuhachi videos.  Thanks for sharing.  That video was pretty cool.

Would you mind explaining your question?  I see nothing odd about useing the shakuhachi for jazz.
