Hi All, I’m performing this Saturday, 3pm at La Mama E.T.C.
I'm planning on doing some of my Children''s Shakuhachi Puppet Show but I'm going to play it by ear as there is no tech rehearsal. I may just end up playing improvisation games with the kids. There's going to be lots of music, story telling, dancers, a stilt walker and lots more! This is fun filled stuff for family audiences and all ages. Bring the kids! Bring grandma and grandpa. Hope to see you there!
Halleli and Yuna are hosting the X-MAS,HANUKA,KWANZAA kids party.
music, dance, shows all by La MaMa family for all kids.
please bring a small wrapped gift, $5 limit.
FREE.
Just a quote from a past review:
"...It is the wiry Perry Yung who ushers some magic onto the stage. In a children's show sketch, he creates an ancient shakuhachi flute onstage. Traditionally carved out of bamboo and punctured with a hot stick, this flute is created out of "local" materials: a plastic pipe and a power drill. In the creation of this instrument, Yung captures the history of his heritage and yanks it into a contemporary experience--a swirl of ancient flutes reverberating with the city subway's warm wind. It is beautiful. - Keri Allen, offoffonine.com
