Hi All,

Hot Peas and Butter (2009 winner of the Family Choice Award) is performing a Holiday show at Symphony Space this Saturday!

This is not a shakuhachi event but  I am playing shakuhachi on one song - Nabiya, a Latin pop song about a beautiful butterfly flying high. It’s accompanied by a ribbon dance. This is a wonderful all ages music show, perfect for the holidays. Here’s the info see you there!

Hot Peas ‘N Butter will take you on a musical trip around the world exploring traditions specific to native peoples. There will be demonstrations of traditional instruments and folkloric dances.

The Hot Peas N Butter show, “Holidays From Around The World”, will provide families with an appreciation of the similarities and differences of their global neighbors. With songs in Spanish, French, Hebrew, Ladino, Korean, Portuguese, and of course English, there’s something for everyone this holiday season!
