Tomorrow, we will be having the obligatory black-eyed peas and greens, the logic being if you start the year with such a poor meal things can only get better.
Gotta take exception to that "poor meal" comment. I love some Hoppin' John anytime of year.

Like or dislike, it is po' folks food where I am from.

Funny ya'll mention the Hoppin' John. We eat it during the year-ending meditation intensive as part of oryoki (formal meal in the zendo). One of the main teachers is from Georgia. Guess that makes me po' folk and proud of it. All seriousness, I love the stuff.

I got remarkably not-drunk at a rather goth oriented club & listened to some pretty awful music. As far as resolutions go, I haven't made any. I decided it would be lazy to have to make a resolution to do something considering I should simply do it in the first place.
Now I find I was too lazy to even make a resolution, let alone doing things in the first place.
I suppose my resolution is to be a lot less disjointed this year, to become more grounded. Otherwise, things are going to become very difficult, very fast.

My preference leans towards sucotash/Three Sisters. Beans (any variety), corn, and squash, sometimes onions, peppers, and/or tomatoes are added. Very good stuff, especially when made by yo' lovin' Mama. How's yo' Mama doing?

I was born on Dec. 31st...
I break a flute on the bumper of a car then I put M80's on my birthday cake. Like a human Shamu I catch that sweet sweet shrapnel as it flies through the air...

Speaking of bottles. I got this from a friend on Facebook. This guy is in Sydney, so if you ever make it over there Brian, you may want to check him out live.

If you check out Related Vids, there is a Japanese guy who made a trumpet out of a cucumber, a slide whistle out of a cabbage, and a pan-flute out of carrots. I was going to post that in the "Flutemaking" forum but thought better of it. It's a slow day at work. Mot much to do but watch Utube.
