Greetings from Holland

Hi there,

My name is Siddhartha Barnhoorn. I'm a 25 year old (film)composer from Holland, The Netherlands. I mostly play guitar but I also have ethnic and european brass and woodwinds. About a few weeks ago I started serious practice on a 1.8 Shakuhachi I borrowed from Kees Kort, a Shakuhachi teacher here in Holland. I haven't got any lessons yet but the first one is due August the 20th and I'm sure to go to that one. Currently I'm practicing every day on my own with some of the lessons I've learned from Kees, on this forum and some things I figured out on my own. It's going rather well and soon I'll be buying a good studiomic or one condensor with big diaphram or a stereo set. I'm aiming or the latter.

Aside from instrumental practice I compose alot. I mainly write for film and media although I've also written works for orchestral, concert music. I'm going to keep on practicing and hope to learn as I go along on this forum. Plus I hope to get to know some of the people here.

Shakuhachi is one of the most beautiful instruments I've ever encountered. The first time I heard it, I was sold. My best wishes to you all for your Shakuhachi practices.

Cheers,
Siddhartha Barnhoorn
