Yikes! I can't find a teacher in Jacksonville, Florida.
So far, it would seem that I am the only person in NE Florida that practices the Shakuhachi. I know what your saying, "that's impossible grasshopper". It's true! I've been seeking a teacher, in this area, for two years.
Someone, please prove me wrong and lead me to the path of formal instruction. My wife would really appreciate it.
By the way I love the forum. I've been a passive user for too long.

I’m Allyson Richmond and I’ve been a student of Ronnie Nyogetsu Reishin Seldin Sensei in New York City for the past 20 years. I’ll be getting my teaching license this year.
My soon to be husband, Gary Sharp (an 11 year student of Seldin Sensei) and I want to open a school to teach shakuhachi in Florida next year. Is there anyone in Florida who is looking for traditionally trained teachers? We’re just testing the waters to see what kind of interest there’d be.
For Floridians who are interested, you can contact us at AllysonJR@aol.com.
Thank you!

This was posted here the 26th of June. Dunno where in FL they are going, but sounds like a good resource.

eB,
Thank you for your post.
Unfortunatly, she is moving to South Florida. The commute would involve a 6-hour drive, one-way.
I'll just continue to be one of those roque solo players, until a wise shakuhachi sage decides to leave the big city for some southern hospitality and an ocean view.
Anybody?????????
