Okuda S. plays a piece here entitled "Tsuru no Sugomori" (from his CD). Is this his own composition/ improvisation? (I don't have the CD... yet).
If it is, is the melodic motif that he introduces around 3mins. 10sec. a folk melody in its own right?
I really enjoyed this bit of playing.
Regards,
Harry.

Tsuru no Sugomori is a Honkyoku piece, but I believe that in some versions there is a place for the player to improvise a segment. Kohachiro Miyata does this on his renditon of Tsuru no Sugomori. Likely that Okuda-sensei is doing that in his recording...
