Re: Montreal Workshop and Phil James Benefit Concert/ Flute Auction

Thanks Ed for posting the flute.

Some more comments:These have been input without names (Mumei). I have a list though that I will be sending to Phil and Lara.:

"Nice of you to help - I purchased 10 tickets, reserved for shakuhachi players who have preceded us in history. Hope you can play Tamuke to send out the invitations..."

"the check is in the mail. I purchased a couple of tickets for my in-laws and told them that after the concert a very nice man named Michael Gould would pick them up and take them home to his house and teach them how to play the Shakuhachi and they are not to return home until they are certified Masters of the Shakuhachi. Is this OK with you! I did not make any return arrangements for them so if you want to keep them you can. My father-in-law is useless, but my mother-in-law can still make some nice Italian meals."

"I purchased a seat for myself.  My hope and prayers are with him."

"I donated $20 for one Zen Seat for myself and one for my wise old dog, Luca."

"
Just thought I'd notify you that I bought an empty Zen seat today;
will be there in spirit."

"
As you know, my budget is always empty, but at least a place on the floor, to a long distance cross legs sitting I can afford... it's not much, but is from heart..."

Chris, is that dog the genetically engineered Yin-Yang I've been hearing about?

Yes, his front paws are male and his back paws are female.

You know, no one has ever asked me why or how this dog's front paw's are male and his back paws are female.

It was a perfect set-up for somebody to ask the question. But nooooooooooo-ooooooooooooooooo.

Now I am curious...... Why?

Because he doesn't wear nail polish on his front paws. Simple.

Re: Montreal Workshop and Phil James Benefit Concert/ Flute Auction

Thanks to everyone who made the Montreal Workshop and Concert a success:

A special thanks to Ricardo Castro for securing the music hall for us. It was a wonderful place to play shakuhachi.

A special thanks to everyone who participated in the workshop, played in the concert and who attended the concert. For asking your friends and family to come and support us and for asking them to buy more ZEN SEATS.

A special thanks to Ed Beaty and Ricardo for making the poster.

We had some competition from the St. Patrick's Parade, which I guess is a big reason to not go to a shakuhachi concert. It also rained, which always pulls more people deeper under the covers or deeper into that next glass of warm green beer(?).  However, we did have around 50 people for the concert-in real 3-D person form, and at least another 200 in ZEN SEATING 1-D form (I only know about my students and family). We had 5 full paying members to the workshop, two ZEN SEATS for Chris Moran("one for each cheek" was the request from Chris, two sat. attendees, and an unknown (to me) number of ZEN SEATS purchased by all you forum members! The wonderful thing is, YOU CAN PURCHASE ZEN SEATS TO THE CONCERT FRO THE REST OF THE MONTH! That's right. Since we're not space and time challenged, you'll be able to attend this concert once again. If you missed it the first time, it's no big deal because it hasn't happened yet. You can hear this concert playing inside yourself every evening for the rest of the month. I announced this opportunity at the concert and the reply from a couple people was that they appreciate the opportunity to attend the concert they just heard and would be purchasing more tickets when they went home!

Thanks again to everyone.
