Watazumi Recs?

Hail All,

Anyone know what is currently available to the modern student from Watazumi (and where might one best get at it)?

Many thanks for any help'

Harry.

Re: Watazumi Recs?

There are several CD's out with Watazumi-do on them. Google Mejiro and check their discography section to see which are still in circulation. You might also check eBay.

Re: Watazumi Recs?

Thanks Waryr,

Couldn't seem to find anything there.

Have the Ploydor CD from '68 on loan from my teacher. Ordered "Art of Japanese Bamboo Flute" off Monty L.

Does anyone have the Japanese video documentary that Monty L stocks (apparently includes Roshi at the end)? Is there other archive film/ audio footage?

Thanks,

Harry.

It is worth getting that DVD because it has insane footage of Watazumi practicing his bo stick. An interesting interview with him and a brief honkyoku. There are several other segments  with good music as well. I wonder if there is any other footage of Watazumi?

As far as the CD's are concerned why don't you drop an email to Saori at Mejiro and ask her whether they have anything? They might even if it's not on their site.

Harry, maybe this is the same Polydor recording you already have, but if you pay the membership fee at komuso.com, you can download MP3s for Watazumi no Sekai in the "member's area".

Re: Watazumi Recs?

This page from komuso.com seems to have a discography of Roshi's commercial recordings (at the bottom).

Thanks for the lead,

Harry.
