Whale Sushi? - Chew on a thermometer instead

Japanese fleets kill some 1,200 whales a year, mostly in the Antarctic. Research in Japanese shops has found that packaged meat from whales--particularly those with teeth--has high levels of mercury contamination. (It is claimed that baleen whales such as the minke targeted by most of today's whalers have low levels of mercury because they consume smaller fish, but research has shown that northern minkes can carry plenty of mercury.)

I have just watched the documentary "The Cove", well worth the watch but adds to the perplexity of this generation.
Dolphins, also contain toxic levels of mercury and is being fed to schoolchildren even though previous experience shows the consequences.

In Iceland they allow the inhabitants to eat whale meat from whales that have beached themselves. They beach themselves here in Tasmania as well and I wouldn't mind munching on them under those circumstances.

I understand you can also obtain beached whale meat from all inclusive resorts where the morbidly obese whales gorge themselves on food & drown in the wave pool from muscle cramps.

Most humans would be toxic to chow on. Make sure your human sushi is from vegetarian humans. Man, even turkey vultures wouldn't eat ya' wink

I bet you live meat would taste even better, wouldn't you say?
