New pieces for shakuhachi
Hello Everyone
On Saturday evening I will perform two pieces for shakuhachi and string quartet: the World Premiere of "Moon Sky" by Charles Porter, and the NY Premiere of "Voyage" by Martin Regan. The two works couldn't be more different and the contrast makes for a great pairing. The excellent string players are principals of the NY-based Sonos Chamber Ocrhetsra.

Then on Tuesday the World Premiere of a solo shakuhachi piece "Regardless" by Alexis Leonidou. A virtuoso, melodic and colorful piece with many Greek rhythms. http://www.newschool.edu/Mannes/events.aspx?id=32830/
Assuming I can get permission from the other players and from the composers, I will post recordings of these new works.
