Re: HELP..

hello  as i promise i post the photos of my last flute...i work so much to finish the tune but it's done today it's a great day!!..i'ts a 2.1 shaku, natural utaguchi made from phyllostachis makinoi hayata,VERY thik walled, and heavy piece.
it has an incredible loud mellow voice and cover the entire 2 1/2 octaves..late i will post some sound files..i'm so happy because i have made numerous flutes, but only this is the great final result of my long and patient work thru this years..thank you to the forum..  smile
I don't  have follow the rule of the seven nodes on purpose on this flute, and i had a surprisely good result.
This is the only shakuhachi i have marked with my personal hanko sign..lately i will post my hanko sign in the database...

Re: HELP..

Hi Greg!

Wouldn't be good to place  pieces of leather or soft material in your "work-box" to avoid the contact of the wood with the bamboo skin?

I ask because when I  made my box it received that protection before I start to work with the flutes, so I don't know if the contact can cause any scratch on bamboo, but I think so...

A big hug!

Henrique
